Ravens' Kyle Hamilton signing four-year extension to become highest-paid safety

Ravens make Kyle Hamilton the NFL’s highest-paid safety with 4-year $100.4M deal.
he Baltimore Ravens have secured safety Kyle Hamilton with a four-year, $100.4 million extension, making it the richest contract ever given to a player at his position, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The deal features $82 million guaranteed, shattering the previous high of $45 million for a safety. With an average annual value of $25.1 million, Hamilton also moves ahead of Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph, who held the top spot at $21.25 million per year.
This extension locks Hamilton in with Baltimore through the 2030 season. The Ravens’ front office emphasized that the record-setting contract reflects Hamilton’s value to the team and their belief that he will continue to serve as a cornerstone of the defense for years to come.
Hamilton, 24, was already under contract through 2026 after the team exercised his fifth-year option earlier this offseason. Negotiations for the new extension intensified within the last month.
Drafted 14th overall in 2022, Hamilton has built a reputation as one of the NFL’s most versatile safeties. He is the only defensive back over the past three seasons to record at least 15 tackles for loss, five sacks, and five interceptions, while also earning both All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in each of the past two years. His ability to excel in multiple roles has made him a unique and vital piece of Baltimore’s defense.
