Packers' Jordan Love to Get Surgery on Thumb

In the Packers’ preseason matchup with the Jets, Jordan Love got the start but struggled, completing just 1 of 5 passes for seven yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions, and taking one sack.
The 26-year-old quarterback, selected 26th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Utah State, spent his first three seasons learning behind future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.
Before the 2023 season, Green Bay traded Rodgers to the Jets, clearing the way for Love to become the starter. He made an immediate impact, completing 64.2 percent of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, while adding 247 rushing yards and four scores. The Packers finished 9-8, secured a playoff berth, and pulled off an upset over the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card Round before narrowly losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.
Expectations were sky-high entering last season. While Love guided the team to a 9-6 record and another playoff appearance, his individual performance took a noticeable step back.
