Eagles' Landon Dickerson gives out beers at practice

During Thursday’s joint practice with the Cleveland Browns, Dickerson handed out beers while wearing a brace on his right knee. He is recovering from meniscus surgery that will sideline the three-time Pro Bowl lineman at least until the end of training camp.

The injury occurred late in Sunday’s open practice at Lincoln Financial Field. His return date remains uncertain. Brett Toth has been taking first-team reps at left guard this week and is expected to start for the Eagles in Saturday’s preseason game against the Browns.

Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson expressed confidence in Toth’s ability to fill in and was relieved that Dickerson’s absence isn’t expected to extend deep into the season.

Toth, a former Army player, has had three stints with the Eagles, spending much of that time on the practice squad. Offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo praised Toth’s intelligence, attention to detail, and versatility, noting his ability to play multiple positions and step in when needed. Patullo also highlighted Toth’s familiarity with the team’s system as a valuable asset.
