Commanders' Jayden Daniels suffered knee sprain vs. Packers

Jayden Daniels knee sprain can keep him out of week 3
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is dealing with the aftermath of a rough outing against Green Bay on Thursday night.
Following the Week 2 loss, Daniels had an MRI that revealed a knee sprain, according to multiple reports. While the injury isn’t considered serious, his availability for Week 3 remains uncertain as he continues to be evaluated by team doctors. Head coach Dan Quinn noted that Daniels is currently day-to-day, with a clearer update expected once the team begins practice on Wednesday.
Washington will travel to face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sept. 21. Daniels has yet to miss a start in his young NFL career, but he took significant punishment from the Packers defense. Green Bay sacked him four times, landed 12 quarterback hits, and limited him to just 17 rushing yards — his second-lowest mark as a pro. The Commanders’ offense also struggled, posting career lows for Daniels in explosive play rate (3.1%) and overall success rate (32.3%).
Green Bay’s aggressive approach under defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley paid off. The Packers blitzed 12 times, generating pressure on seven of those snaps and recording two sacks. Daniels managed only three completions on 10 attempts when blitzed, a career-worst 30 percent completion rate, and was prevented from scrambling on any of those plays.
