Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Court date set

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is scheduled for a disciplinary hearing with the NFL on September 30, concerning potential penalties related to a 2024 crash that led to two third-degree felony charges, according to NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
The hearing comes after the NFL and the NFL Players Association were unable to agree on the length of a potential suspension. Judge Sue L. Robinson, who previously handled Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s 2022 discipline case, will preside over Rice’s hearing.
Rice could face action under the league’s personal conduct policy following his July sentencing to 30 days in jail. Authorities said Rice and another driver, both traveling at high speeds in sports cars, caused a multi-vehicle chain-reaction crash on a Dallas highway on March 30, 2024, resulting in injuries.
Prosecutors reported that Rice was driving a Lamborghini Urus at 119 mph (191 kph), made several aggressive maneuvers around traffic, and struck other vehicles. They also stated that he left the scene on foot without checking on the other drivers.
Last season, Rice appeared in four games before suffering a season-ending knee injury in September. He has been participating in Kansas City’s training camp this month.
