Andy Reid says Chiefs remain in contact with Travis Kelce, shuts down Tyreek Hill reunion buzz

Andy Reid said Kansas City is still communicating with Travis Kelce about 2026 but called talk of a Tyreek Hill return inactive for now.

The Chiefs are heading into the 2026 offseason with more uncertainty than usual. Kansas City missed the playoffs, Patrick Mahomes finished 2025 on injured reserve, and Andy Reid is recovering from a knee procedure that will keep him out of next week’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Reid said the team is still in regular contact with Travis Kelce, but there is no final decision yet on the tight end’s future. The message from Kansas City is that communication is active and both sides are still working through what comes next.

Kelce turns 37 in October and has narrowly missed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons after a long stretch above that mark. He remains a central piece of the offense, but the physical wear is increasingly part of the conversation as he considers whether to continue.

Even so, the Chiefs have left the door open for a return in 2026. After an uncharacteristic finish to last season, a final run is still a realistic possibility if Kelce decides to come back.

Reid also addressed speculation around Tyreek Hill after Miami released the veteran receiver. He said Kansas City evaluates all available players but indicated there is currently no move underway involving Hill, who is still working back from a significant knee injury and turns 32 on March 1.

On the receiver front, Reid said Rashee Rice’s legal situation remains with law enforcement and is not changing the team’s offseason approach at this stage. For now, Kansas City appears to be in evaluation mode, with major roster decisions still ahead.
